The headwaters of two rivers are located in the heart of the Cohutta Wilderness in northeast Georgia: the Conasauga and the Jacks River.  The Cohutta Wilderness, together with the Big Frog Wilderness to the north in Tennessee, make up a combined 45,059 acres, probably the largest national forest wilderness in the east.  We did a loop hike from Daly Gap that includes 7.1 miles of the upper Jack’s River, with a camp along the river on Saturday.  Sunday returned 5.9 miles via several ridges to the trailhead.  There were about 18 river fords, more or less.
